Rohini's water set-ups

Rohini was developed by DDA as a large planned sub-city, divided into numbered sectors and served by the Red Line. Its housing falls into three main groups:

• CGHS group housing societies — many of them, each with a central underground reservoir and block overhead tanks.
• DDA flats in pockets, with shared terrace tanks.
• Plotted houses and builder floors, with a sump and rooftop tank per floor.

Society reservoirs

In Rohini's CGHS societies, the reservoir collects municipal supply and, in many cases, borewell water, and pumps lift it to block tanks. Our society process:

1. Fill block tanks fully before starting so residents have stored water.
2. Clean the reservoir chamber by chamber.
3. Clean block overhead tanks one at a time, to a schedule the managing committee can circulate.
4. Provide photo records and an itemised bill for the committee's files.

DDA flats

Shared terrace tanks in DDA pockets are best cleaned in a single coordinated visit booked by the RWA or a block representative. The cost is split between flats, and the discount rises with every tank.

Houses and builder floors

Rohini's plotted sectors have many rebuilt builder floors with a shared sump and a rooftop tank per floor. Book the sump with every floor's tank. A 1,000-litre rooftop tank is ₹599 and a 1,501–3,000 litre sump ₹1,099.

Tips for Rohini committees

• Borewell supply adds sediment; consider cleaning reservoirs every three to four months.
• Tell residents the window, not just the date — "Block C, 9 am to 12 noon" avoids complaints.
• Keep the photo history for AGMs and resident queries.

Rohini's sectors have DDA flats, group-housing societies and independent houses. Flats with their own tank can book individually; houses usually book a sump and rooftop tank together.
