Planning matters more than effort at this size

At 10,000+ litres, draining alone takes a significant share of the job, and the building may rely on this tank for most of its daily supply. A good plan makes the difference:

• Pick a low-demand window, usually early morning.
• Fill all overhead tanks beforehand so the building has water while the reservoir is cleaned.
• Plan the refill — if the reservoir fills from a municipal line with limited supply hours, schedule cleaning so it can refill during the next supply window, or arrange a tanker.
• Notify residents or staff of the timing.

What we find in large reservoirs

Large reservoirs collect sediment from every source feeding the building — municipal supply, borewells and tankers — so sludge can be deep, especially near the inlet. Inlet and outlet chambers, foot valves and suction pipes are cleaned with care so dislodged sludge doesn't enter the pump.

Safety

Large sumps have limited ventilation and may have only one opening. Our team ventilates the tank, keeps a person at the manhole throughout and cordons the area off from residents and vehicles.

Annual schedules

Buildings with reservoirs this size should clean at least twice a year. An annual maintenance contract fixes the dates and keeps a photo history.
